Nick Culatto has a practice predominantly involved with litigation and construction.
He has been involved in several high-profile Supreme Court and Court of Appeal cases, including the largest-ever claim in which the Government of Gibraltar has been involved, which related to the Gibraltar Airport Tunnel. Nick acted for the Government of Gibraltar, which was successful in both defending the claim against it and advancing its counterclaim. Nick also regularly represents developers and contractors in adjudications.
On non-contentious issues, Nick regularly advises on planning issues, and has advised various developers, contractors and banks in relation to JCT, NEC and FIDIC construction contracts. Some of the more most recent developments Nick has been involved in include Midtown, The Arches and Plata Villa. He has also been advising on the new power station contract.
Nick read law at the University of Kent in Canterbury and then obtained his master’s in International Maritime Law at the University of Nottingham. He joined TSN in 2007, then spent two years from 2010 at a prestigious specialist construction law firm in London. He was involved in several multimillion-pound arbitrations in Europe, Africa and Asia, working on both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, including public procurement. He re-joined TSN in 2012.
